Broker / Trade Printer Requirements
In order to qualify for our wholesale rates, you must meet the following qualifications:
- You must be a member/user of the Metal Kards website. If you are not currently a member, you can join today at no cost to you.
- You must be in the printing, graphic design / agency, or reselling promotional products field, and cannot sell cards cheaper than our MSRP.
- You are required to furnish proper documentation of your business license, permits and complete our reseller application form. Be sure to include a copy of your resale permit with your state in order to be approved.
- You must mail or email all supporting documentation, including the Metal Kards Reseller Application to:

- The reseller discount isn’t available for our design package, and resellers are expected to provide their own artwork services to their clients.

Frequently Asked Questions ( F.A.Q. )
Credit Cards and Gift Cards are 0.76mm by ISO Standards. Metal Kards offers .7mm Stainless Steel that is “Credit Card Thickness”. Because metal credit cards are a sandwich of plastic and metal to contain the antennas and emv chip, a .7mm Metal Kard will be 30% heavier than the best metal credit card.
Compare what you want people to feel: subtle vs impact. Think of how many you’ll carry, your audience, your brand. If in doubt, somewhere in the middle often works well. .5mm is very cost effective, while also making an impact in metal.
Most metal cards are made from Stainless Steel, Brass, Aluminum, or Tin. The best material for any type of metal card is Stainless Steel.
- Stainless Steel – Very durable, weather and rust proof. Solid weight and resistance to bending. There are numerous grades, with type 304 “surgical steel” being very high quality for the price. MetalKards.com exclusively uses high tensile strength 304 stainless steel for ultra premium metal cards at a low price.
- Aluminum – Very light and very easy to bend. Can be anodized and the machinery to work with it is much cheaper, but the raw materials are very expensive. Aluminum cards tend to cost the same as stainless steel but are inferior, as they’re less durable and can feel cheaply made.
- Brass – With it’s rich gold color, it is a softer metal than stainless steel but does contain hygienic properties. Often used in specialty cases for it’s coloring and easy of engraving.
- Tin – Soft and cheaper material that is not recommended. Metallurgy is complex, and often very cheap metal business cards will be a mixed metal that will be a thin layer of stainless steel that is tin plated to increase thickness, while being sold as 100% “stainless steel” – but will be cheap feeling and more bendable.

Not at all! We design metal cards to be credit card dimensions so that they fit with any wallet, in the same way a credit card is carried.
No, thicker cards are very resistant to bending. Without tools, you’d have a very hard time bending a .7mm metal card, and you’d have to be strong to bend a .5mm thickness. The only bendable card is .3mm, where stainless steel tends to return to it’s original shape, you can bend this thickness.
Our cards are very durable, along with our specially formulated silkscreen inks – they are scratch resistant, and come individually sleeved in a clear plastic protector, but the finish can play a role in scratch visibility over long term use. Matte finishes are very durable and very resistant to scratches, and Brushed finishes do a great job hiding a potential scratch. Polished finishes, due to their mirror like sheen, will scratch the easiest or be the most noticeable.
Like anything, we urge people to carry metal business cards within the free clear plastic protector, like a premium trading card, and keep it in their wallet. They are very durable and scratch resistant, but if there are sharp objects like sand or pocket knives in your pocket with a loose metal card rubbing against this over time, it is possible to scratch.
